A modern cubic shape with traditional wood color texture, this is the huge treasure box containing Guangdong‘s thousand-year history.

Inside the museum, huge fossil of ancient dinosaur that dated back to pre-historic times, the porcelains exported to European countries a century ago, precious ancient documents that survive for hundreds of years… More than 166,000 items are displayed to showcase the up and down of the province in the past thousands of years.

Traditional Lingnan style items like precious wood carvings, Duan ink stone, calligraphies, porcelains and paintings were on display.

Besides social history, there is also exhibition of local nature, including specimen of marine life, ancient animals, forest and wetland.

Opening Time: 9am to 5pm

Admission Fee: Free (Special exhibitions will be charged.)

Number of Visitors: 5,000 at most every day
