Hong Xiuquan Memorial Museum


The Memorial of Hong Xiuquan was established in 1991 on Xinhua Road of Xinhua Town when was the 140th anniversary of the Peaceful Heaven Kingdom (Taipingtianguo) uprising. The memorial is a three-storey imitated ancient building, exhibits the history of Peaceful Heaven Kingdom Uprising led by Hong.

The clay brick house in the plot below is the former residence of Hong Xiuquan. He lived there with his parents, sister and three brothers. His siblings later took part in the Peaceful Heaven Kingdom uprising. There is a longan tree planted by Hong next to the house.

The memorial is situated in the Guanlu Village, Xinhua Town inside the Huadu district. It was renovated and opened to visitors since 1962. It is one of the national privileged heritage units.
